I'll See You at Equine Affaire 2026

I have some exciting news to share...

A few weeks ago, I received an email that completely made my day.

Actually... it made my week.

Maybe even my year.

I was standing in the stable, a halter still in my hand, when my phone buzzed.

I opened the email...

Read it once.

Then I read it again.

Then... just to be absolutely sure... I read it a third time.

I honestly remember thinking,

"Wait... are you sure you have the right Ale?"

Then I started laughing.

Standing there all by myself.

I had just been invited to be a Clinician at Equine Affaire 2026.

Even now, writing those words feels a little surreal.

As excited as I am about teaching at one of the biggest equestrian events in North America, what fills my heart the most is the opportunity to help more riders discover rider biomechanics—a way of understanding movement that has transformed not only my riding, but the way I connect and communicate with every horse I meet.

For years, I've been fascinated by one simple question: How does the way we move shape the way our horses move?

Rider biomechanics has completely changed the way I understand riding.

It has taught me to look beyond positions and techniques and become curious about how the body actually moves.

That's the conversation I'm looking forward to bringing to Equine Affaire.

We'll explore feel, movement, posture, and some of the traditional cues we've all heard for years through the lens of biomechanics—discovering how small changes in the rider can create greater ease, balance, and confidence, and greater comfort, freedom, and harmony for the horse.

I'll be sharing two clinics and a presentation that I'm incredibly excited about:

Beyond Heels Down: A Biomechanical Approach to Effortless Riding

I honestly can't wait for those conversations.

I do have one small concern...

Massachusetts in November.

As a Costa Rican, I'm fairly certain I'll be teaching biomechanics while wearing every jacket I own.

So, to all my American horse friends...

I can't wait to see you.

Whether we've met before, learned together online, or this will be our very first conversation, I hope you'll come and say hello.

This invitation arrived in one email...

But it was built one horse, one rider, and one conversation at a time.
